We've all made them. We've all failed to follow through on some. It's resolution time!
For the first time in many years, I am determined to make this a great year! With God's help, I have some big plans and am also hoping for something else to come through. Whatever He decides, I will make the best of what I have. Whether I get back into the workforce or become a Domestic Goddess, I will do so with a fierce determination to be the best.
Before getting into the new, it is out with the old. Yesterday was a bittersweet day for me as we cleaned out our space at Through the Garden Gate. Now we have a full trailer load ready to go to auction. Though it was a sad day in some ways, I feel a HUGE weight has been lifted! We've discussed closing the booth part of the business and have been working towards it for a while. We are going to transition into a more defined path so that I can concentrate more on my style and create one-of-a-kind pieces instead of what I call "mass designed" where everything looks the same in color and design. Over the last year or so, I've lost that connection and am ready to pursue that part of me again.
Now it's time to concentrate back on OUR business and redefine our style. I need for me to get excited about what I do again and enjoy some creativity without having to worry about maintaining a booth inside someone else's business. Not that renting a booth is a bad thing in itself, I just feel that the only way I can grow both personally and professionally is to have complete control over what I do and sell. I think I forgot to leave behind the shop owner's mentality after we closed our brick and mortar store....
This blog is going to be a big part of our New Year makeover! I have a calendar filled with posts to write and I hope to have you follow along as I share our adventures in ReDesigns, Renovations, Decorating, Gardening, Cooking and so much more. I'm also excited about my new camera, which I hope will bring great photos....once I learn all the settings. :)
Here's to Happy Endings and New Beginnings!!
2015 - Bring it On!!
'til next time...
