No doors - No hardware - No problem!

My eyes are always searching for that next "fixer-upper".  Recently, we were at an auction that was full of them!  (A separate post on my "junk pile" coming soon!).

I spotted this little sweetheart beforehand, and when it came up for bid, I leaned over to my hubby and said to him that I KNOW it doesn't have doors, but I want it anyway.  I did get it, and it took a little bit of time to convince him it will be o.k.  I think he was more afraid that I was going to ask him to build me some doors.

Structurally, it was in really good shape. The only thing I needed to do besides clean it down a bit, was fill in the screw holes from where the doors were.  Just a little wood filler and some sanding.

After a couple of coats of a custom creamy white paint on the outside and my favorite "Blue Haze" on the inside of the cubby and drawers, she was quickly transformed!  I had the perfect pulls in my stash that added the final touch.

My husband came home during the "photo shoot" and said that he actually gets it now!  That's when I know it's a job well done!

This will be available at the Lucketts Spring Market next month!

  1. Gorgeous! Love it creamy white with the blue inside. I'm loving the missing drawers and doors trend... super cute! I'm featuring it in the PoPP Spotlight this week. Thanks for linking up.

  2. Very nice job! I especially like the handles. They add a touch of detail and complement the simple lines of the table.

  5. What a cute little bedside table! Too, I can't look at a cabinet like that without seeing a custom bathroom vanity. It would be perfect for that.

Sometimes, You Just Need to Look Past the Ugly....

Many, many times I will buy the most ugliest piece at auction - then be amused by the looks I get as I proudly walk out with my "prize...
